How to use mAI Wine

Everything you need to know — for hosts and guests

Add a Wine Host

Build your personal collection — manually or let the AI do the work.

1
Tap "+" in your collection and choose "Add Wine".
2
AI Photo Recognition: Take a photo of the bottle. The AI identifies name, winery, grape variety, vintage, and region — automatically.
3
Manual entry: Alternatively, fill in the details yourself — name, winery, region, grape variety, vintage, ABV.
Tip: The AI also estimates the market price and suggests similar wines.
Create a Tasting Host

Set up a tasting event in just a few taps.

1
Go to "Tastings" and tap "New Tasting".
2
Give it a name and pick a date.
3
Select wines from your collection or add new ones on the fly.
4
Choose the rating mode — Quick or Expert (see below).
Quick Mode vs. Expert Mode Host + Guest

Choose how detailed the ratings should be.

⚡ Quick Mode

  • Single slider from 1 to 10
  • Perfect for casual tastings
  • Fast and intuitive
  • Great for larger groups

🏆 Expert Mode

  • 6 aroma intensities: Fruity, Floral, Mineral, Sweetness, Acidity, Body
  • Plus overall rating (1–10)
  • Generates detailed flavor profiles
  • Ideal for experienced tasters
The host selects the mode when creating the tasting. All guests use the same mode.
Invite Guests via QR Code Host

Guests don't need the app — they rate in their browser.

1
Open the tasting and tap "Invite Guests".
2
A QR code is generated with a unique link and PIN.
3
Share the QR code — show it on screen, via WhatsApp, AirDrop, or print it out.
The PIN ensures that only invited guests can access the tasting.
Rate as a Guest Guest

No app needed — everything works in the browser.

1
Scan the QR code with your phone camera.
2
Enter your name and the PIN the host shared.
3
Rate each wine using the slider (Quick) or the 6 aroma dimensions (Expert).
4
Once all ratings are submitted, your personal flavor profile is generated automatically — and can be imported into the app (see next section).
Continue in the App Guest

Optional but recommended: take your ratings and flavor profile from the web into the mAI Wine app.

1
After rating, open your result link on your iPhone (shown on the results page or shared by the host).
2
If the mAI Wine app is installed, the link opens directly in the app via Universal Links.
3
No app yet? You'll land on maitasting.app to download it. After install and sign up, tap the link again.
4
Confirm on the claim screen — your ratings and flavor profile are imported into your account.
Why do this? Save your ratings permanently, grow your flavor profile across tastings, and unlock personalized wine recommendations.
Your Flavor Profile Host + Guest

After a tasting, the AI analyzes the ratings and creates a personal flavor profile for each participant.

1
A creative profile name describes your taste (e.g., "The Floral Dreamer").
2
A radar chart visualizes your preferences across 6 dimensions.
3
You receive 3 personalized wine recommendations — with direct links to order on Amazon.
The profile is generated by AI based on the ratings — no two profiles are the same.
Presentation Mode Host

Present the wines on a TV or projector during the tasting — the AI tells the story of each bottle.

1
Open a tasting and tap "Presentation".
2
A fullscreen slideshow opens — optimized for large screens.
3
Each wine is presented with an AI-generated story, highlights, and wine region illustration.
Tip: Open the presentation link on your Smart TV or cast via AirPlay/Chromecast. The tasting results (ratings, aroma wheels, flavor profiles) are available separately after the tasting is completed.
